A space exuding the luxurious atmosphere of a hotel lounge.
Client
A Japanese womenswear brand with shops in department stores and commercial facilities nationwide, offering high-quality, sophisticated fashion for adult women.
Background
Store layouts for the brand had long followed a standard manual. This time the client asked for a completely new store, with a design entirely different from anything done before.
Client needs
A design that conveys the luxury and distinctive world of the brand, creating an impactful experience that could become a future standard for manual-style designs.
Design response
Striking stone is used in large volumes that become the main focus of the space. In the details, silver metal fittings run along horizontal lines and wood-grain materials along vertical lines, for a balanced composition. Two directions were proposed through sketches: a blue stone scheme that achieves luxury and stability through the careful organisation of lines, and a more trend-forward scheme led by metal with stone as an accent. The reception counter uses the same material palette.
